Saxonibus enim in more erat, ut omnem hominem olim aestimarent ac pro natalis sui ratione capite censerent; praeterea secundum cuiusque valorem in classem (vel collegium) parium suorum, quam hyndene nuncuparunt, referrent: trium sc. harum unam, infimam, mediam, summam. Infimae classis erant, qui valerent 200. sol. dicti Thwyhindeman: Mediae, qui 600. sol. Syxhindam; Sum mae, quorum singuli valerent 1200. sol. Twelfhindi. Pariterque uxores eorum Cyrtiscam i. e. Twyhyndam, Syxhyndam et Twelfhyndam nominârunt, Somnerus apud C. du Fresne in Gloss. Vide eandem hominum partitionem, e quibus Twelfhindi, aliter Thani, perfecte nobiles habebantur, praesertim in LL.
